Here are several pictures I took at the Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery. The grounds are such a charming and peaceful place.

Since visiting Woodinville on a regular basis, I’m amazed by all the attractive scenery. Woodinville just can’t help itself, it’s naturally a beautiful place. Every resident I’ve met has proven what a warm and friendly community it is. It must be a representation of serenity they are surrounded with every day. Having just missed the tour, I was hanging out and watching everyone taste their local wine. Then the nice tour guide must have seen that I was thirsty and offered to let me taste with the group.

So I tried the three wines that were being offered, the first being a Chardonnay, the second was a Merlot (which I bought a bottle of). It was a Vitage 2004, luscious flavors of dark red fruit and cola. Third was Gewurztraminer Columbia Valley Gewurztraminer
As we were tasting, I met yet another wonderful couple and resident of Woodinville. Don & Kathy Whitwam have recently moved to Woodinville from Mill Creek and absolutely love it here! They also liked the Geurztraminer too, and took a couple bottles home.

The wine, atmosphere and Don & Kathy made for a pleasurable day. Unfortunately it was closing time, so I’ll have to back for the full tour next time. Buy yourself a bottle of wine, cheese and crackers and there is plenty of room for a picnic, to throw a ball, or go for a stroll.

Are there any joyful beer drinkers in Woodinville?? The 2nd annual Oktoberfest provided by the Washington Beer Commission is right around the corner. September 12th and 13th to be exact and taking place in Seattle at the Pyramid Alehouse. For more information about 30 breweries under the same tent, click here. It did get me thinking though, there are so many beers, and after doing a taste test the other day at Redhook Brewery, I really don’t know anything about them. I am close friends with beer geeks; they know everything! I would be embarrassed to order something as plain as a Budlight. A big favorite among beer lovers is the IPA. So doing a little research, this is what I found out and wanted to share it with you….
More Than You Need to Know About IPA (India Pale Ale)
I have long been a fan of IPA. Back in the day when most people had never heard of craft beer, it was my favorite style of ale. Now, it seems that everyone loves IPA. On one level, I’m very grateful for that fact. It means my chances of finding IPA on tap at the local watering hole has greatly increased. On the other hand, I’m amazed that so many people like IPA. It is an aggressive style—much too bitter for timid beer drinkers and much too strong for amateurs.
There was a time when people thought you were a beer geek because you knew that IPA was an acronym for India Pale Ale. Nowadays, it seems that everyone knows that much. In fact, almost everyone knows that it was originally a colonial beer formulated to handle the voyage from England to India. The higher hop and alcohol content helped to preserve it for the 6 months the beer would spend at sea before reaching the lips of thirsty, homesick British colonialists.
If that’s all you know about IPA, then I suppose you deserve a smiley face on your report; however, if you want to consider yourself a real beer geek you need to know more…..Click here for the rest of the article provided by www.beerchurch.com

The kids had their own menu to choose from; for example (mac/cheese, grapes, chips and cookies for under $5). Here is a picture of my beer sample I tried, isn’t it beautiful!
Here’s a great picture. They’ve been here before and said they enjoy the outdoor seating on sunny afternoons! They have also enjoyed Woodinville for the countryside to ride horses.

The following webinar is hosted by Dr. Lynda Falkenstein the author of Nichcraft. For more information about Lynda, you can visit her website here.
Fact: 70 percent of business is found through networking! Needless to say, effective networking is vital to your continued business success. The operative word here, of course, is effective. That can mean remembering to use the “tried and the true.” But it also requires going beyond what has always been done—being creative. Thinking in ways that aren’t ordinary. Or, simply adding a memorable polish to what has always been done…
In this important webinar, our special guest, John Erdman, will share best kept secrets about how to make networking really work for you. Important at any time, this subject is even more critical in today’s volatile and uncertain economic environment.
Featured expert: John Erdman, CEO of the Woodinville Chamber of Commerce, has written and spoken extensively throughout the country about networking and its role in business development. Most importantly, he has guided scores of others to greater success using the strategies he will share with you during Networking Done Right!
