Wine Tasting at Chateau Ste. Michelle

Posted by danita jolly

Here are several pictures I took at the Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery.  The grounds are such a charming and peaceful place.

Since visiting Woodinville on a regular basis, I’m amazed by all the attractive scenery.  Woodinville just can’t help itself, it’s naturally a beautiful place. Every resident I’ve met has proven what a warm and friendly community it is.  It must be a representation of serenity they are surrounded with every day.  Having just missed the tour, I was hanging out and watching everyone taste their local wine.  Then the nice tour guide must have seen that I was thirsty and offered to let me taste with the group.

So I tried the three wines that were being offered,  the first being a Chardonnay, the second was a Merlot (which I bought a bottle of).  It was a Vitage 2004, luscious flavors of dark red fruit and cola.  Third was Gewurztraminer Columbia Valley Gewurztraminer

As we were tasting, I met yet another wonderful couple and resident of Woodinville.  Don & Kathy Whitwam have recently moved to Woodinville from Mill Creek and absolutely love it here!  They also liked the Geurztraminer too, and took a couple bottles home.

The wine, atmosphere and Don & Kathy made for a pleasurable day.  Unfortunately it was closing time, so I’ll have to back for the full tour next time.  Buy yourself a bottle of wine, cheese and crackers and there is plenty of room for a picnic, to throw a ball, or go for a stroll.
