Pasta Nova – Authentic Italian Food in Woodinville

Pasta Nova is one of those small, unassuming, bistro-type restaurants that surprise you when you walk in the front door, smell the food and your stomach scolds you for not having visited before. The ambiance is simple with the feel of a northern Italian bar. Even though the restaurant is located in a strip mall, the interior is warm and the staff is incredibly friendly:

The owner, Fred Armin, is clearly passionate about his restaurant. When he found out that I spend time in Italy, he wanted to know what my favorite dish is. I told him there’s nothing more “homey” than a good polenta with a chicken stew. “Oh, I’m working on a new menu and I’m going to have polenta on it,” he said. He said it’s important that he keep his menu fresh and offer dishes his clients recommend.

Pasta Nova is open at 11:00 for lunch. Dinner begins at 5:00. The menu features a nice variety of Italain standards at reasonable prices. Just click on the picture below to view the menu:

Despite the current economy Fred told me that business is going well. “We can never have too many diners,” he said, but he has a loyal following in the local community. As a Realtor, Pasta Nova is one of those small intimate places I like to bring my clients for lunch or, even better, it’s a great spot where you can enjoy a romantic dinner with a special friend.

If you find yourself in Woodinville to tour the local wineries, I highly recommend you treat yourselves to a wonderful meal at Pasta Nova. You won’t be disappointed.

Welcoming a Newcomer Texas-Style

Posted by Susan Moore @ mcm group No Comments »

This is Ian, and he’s brand spanking new to Woodinville.  He spent half of his life east of the mountains and the other half in the South end, but in the end couldn’t resist the charm of Woodinville!

As the unofficial, self-appointed ambassador I felt it my duty to show Ian around, starting with dinner at the Texas Smokehouse Bar-B-Q (see previous post). I wanted to get his review of the food while he was eating, but Ian was all business cleaning his plate – I even had to defend my pulled pork sandwich from his grasp!

One of my favorite things about Texas Smokehouse is the beer.  So far, its the only restaurant I’ve found that serves up Shiner Bock, a great, mellow beer with rich flavor from Shiner, Texas that’s widely popular with several of my Texan friends.  Ian seemed impressed, too!

Texas Smokehouse Bar-B-Q in Woodinville

If you haven’t made it to Texas Smokehouse Bar-B-Q, you really haven’t experienced true Woodinville living.  Located next to Purple Cafe, its a true local favorite.

Everything I have had there has been wonderful.  However, the must-have is the Texas Spud.  The whole baked potato is stuffed with butter, sour cream, cheddar cheese, chopped brisket (in regular or spicy), Bar-B-Q sauce and green onions.   My waistline is very grateful that they offer a 1/2 Texas Spud.  They also offer a vegetarian version of this dish.  I haven’t yet tried it, but next time I go in I will be trying their “Great Tasting Meatless Bar-B-Q.”

Texas Smokehouse Bar-B-Q is also famous for their bunt-ends Wednesday.  Showing up early is a must if you don’t want to gamble on them running out, as there is often a line out of the door!  Try it, and let us know what you think!

Posted by danita jolly 1 Comment »

Here’s Joel, our favorite waiter at RedHook. He serves up a good ice cold beer and with a smile.

The Forecasters Pub at Redhook is a great place for gatherings–perfect for a birthday party, a gathering of friends, or for a family to come in and have a meal. Every Saturday night a different live band is featured with no cover charge. Test your knowledge at Tuesday night trivia. Or stop by for a brewery tour. Open daily at 11 a.m. at 14300 NE 145th St. www.Redhook.com

Also, Sam and Rhonda “the hardest working real estate agents in Woodinville” were celebrating Rhonda’s Birthday at the Redhook Brewery.

Rhonda Greer and her team are with ReMax. She has been a top producer in Woodinville for many years. She is about to open her own office a couple doors down from the Chateau Woods Sales Center and we hope that she brings us several condo buyers! – Amie

Cost is $5.00 per person.  Gates and taps open at 6pm.  Movies start at dusk, between 8:45-9:30, and show until 11:00pm.  Delicious Redhook beer, wine, soda and food will be available in the beer garden until the movie starts.  Moviegoers are welcome to bring low-back lawn chairs, blankets and picnics.  No pets, BBQ’s, or outside alcohol is allowed.  Coolers and bags are subject to search.  Additional parking available at the Little League Complex, Woodinville Farmers Market and next door at the Columbia Winery after 7:00pm.  This film is rated ‘R’.  For more information, please visit the Redhook website.

Now for the friends and family part.  Kids are welcome in the Pub except for Friday and Saturday nights after 9:00pm. While visiting the pub we were pleased to see that they offered a variety of food, so while we enjoyed edamame and the lime-cilantro prawns.  The kids had their own menu to choose from; for example (mac/cheese, grapes, chips and cookies for under $5).  Here is a picture of my beer sample I tried, isn’t it beautiful!

Here’s a great picture.  They’ve been here before and said they enjoy the outdoor seating on sunny afternoons!  They have also enjoyed Woodinville for the countryside to ride horses.
