The Villas at Woodinville Village is open this weekend 12 to 6, if you haven’t seen the model home yet you should stop by. These riverfront townhomes are just gorgeous. They are getting ready to release their second phase next weekend, so make plans to stop by and see the model this weekend, then stop by again next weekend to see more.

Chuck Cruz and the gang at your local PostNet in Woodinville Towne Center are responsible for creating and promoting this fantastic idea!  They are inviting all Woodinville residents and businesses to visit Woodinville Towne Center on Halloween, Friday, October 31st from 2-6pm, and to bring their children to enjoy the safe environment of trick or treating in our area.  Look for the official notice in the Woodinville Weekly!

The Chateau Woods sales center is excited to participate in this first annual Trick or Treat Event at Woodinville Towne Center.  We look forward to sharing in the treating and having a ton of spooky fun!

As the unofficial, self-appointed ambassador I felt it my duty to show Ian around, starting with dinner at the Texas Smokehouse Bar-B-Q (see previous post). I wanted to get his review of the food while he was eating, but Ian was all business cleaning his plate - I even had to defend my pulled pork sandwich from his grasp!

One of my favorite things about Texas Smokehouse is the beer.  So far, its the only restaurant I’ve found that serves up Shiner Bock, a great, mellow beer with rich flavor from Shiner, Texas that’s widely popular with several of my Texan friends.  Ian seemed impressed, too!

Here’s what MCM Agent Amie Lynn had to say about her breakfast today:

“Today I tried the California Scramble…just as good as it sounds.  Eggs scrambled with bacon, hash browns, Tillamook Cheddar, green onions and tomato and topped with sliced avocado and a dollop of sour cream.  And don’t forget it comes with toast or pancakes!”  Here’s a picture she took:

 We’d like to give a shout-out to Massage Envy!  This month, they enthusiastically announced the return of the one-day Massage for the Cure event.  On October 6th, registered guests received a one-hour Swedish massage for a suggested donation of $40.  Instead of paying Massage Envy for their one-hour-in-heaven, 100% of the proceeds went to charity!  The Woodinville clinic alone raised over $3500 for the Puget Sound affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. 

The region has raised over $40,000 from this event, which will support breast cancer research initiatives through Susan G. Komen for the Cure.  The Komen Puget Sound Affiliate also provides breast cancer screenings and treatments for under-served women in western Washington.

 Everything I have had there has been wonderful.  However, the must-have is the Texas Spud.  The whole baked potato is stuffed with butter, sour cream, cheddar cheese, chopped brisket (in regular or spicy), Bar-B-Q sauce and green onions.   My waistline is very grateful that they offer a 1/2 Texas Spud.  They also offer a vegetarian version of this dish.  I haven’t yet tried it, but next time I go in I will be trying their “Great Tasting Meatless Bar-B-Q.”

Texas Smokehouse Bar-B-Q is also famous for their bunt-ends Wednesday.  Showing up early is a must if you don’t want to gamble on them running out, as there is often a line out of the door!  Try it, and let us know what you think!
